DO I NEED PLANNING PERMISSION TO PUT A LOG CABIN IN MY GARDEN?
Yes. If a log cabin is intended to be used as a permanent dwelling or structure, it will require planning permission. That being said, however, if the cabin is smaller than 50% of your garden, less than 2m in height and cannot be seen from the front of the dwelling, you may not need planning permission. This all depends on local authorities’ regulations.
